He spent 15 years in the corporate world, tackled pool cleaning, tried his hand at auto detailing, and even jumped into the world of construction. His passion for luxury watches emerged during these years of exploration. Over a decade of immersing himself in the world of fine timepieces, he transformed from a curious collector to a true expert. Armed with knowledge he gained on his own, he brought his passion to life by founding WPB Watch Co. four years ago.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, David Salamanca migrated to the U.S. in 2000. Life in Philadelphia, living as an immigrant with his parents in a roach-infested basement while in search of the "American Dream," was David's first introduction to a harsh reality. David learned to speak and write English in just 6 months. Dedication, perseverance, and discipline have always been a part of David’s DNA. Throughout his younger years, David faced many setbacks and adversities; it's safe to say he graduated from the school of "Hard Knocks". After his parents' divorce and the economic downturn, he was thrust into early adulthood. Now, through his two sons, he gets a fresh opportunity to provide the childhood he never had. David has held numerous jobs: from washing cars, working at restaurants, cleaning houses, and working on boats, to construction and even McDonald's, all to earn a living. At one point, he was living in an efficiency, working three jobs, attending college, and chasing his ultimate dream of breaking into the music industry. Music has always been David’s first love; life without the rhythms and melodies would be unimaginable to him.
David has faced challenges, heartaches, and failures, but also successes. Despite these roller-coasters, one thing remained true: David never gave up. His charisma and unique way of engaging in dialogue, his commitment to relationship building, all contributed to the foundation he set for himself, presenting him with the chance to either fail or seize the moment. He was introduced to the luxury watch industry early on, working for top luxury watch resellers and learning the intricacies of building client trust and the art of selling and trading top brands. Fast forward to 2017: David faced the tough decision of leaving a six-figure job to keep his newborn son close to family. Choosing a new path, he obtained his real estate license to diversify his income. David now owns and operates a real estate business in Florida, focused on buying, renovating, and reselling single-family homes. Additionally, he founded "SALAMANCA WATCHES" using his life savings and a dream.
Today, if you ask David, he'll tell you he's in the PEOPLE business. Watches and houses are just vehicles towards his ultimate goals: freedom, happiness, and peace. Through his journey, he hopes to inspire budding entrepreneurs. David values giving back, and "Podcast At The Table" is his platform to blend therapeutic talks with sharing lessons on topics he's personally experienced.
